HC Deb 18 July 1995 vol 263 cc1223-4W
Mrs. Clwyd

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what consideration led him to diverge from his policy of not divulging details of export licences granted or applications for export licences in his answer to the hon. Member for Teignbridge (Mr. Nicholls), of 2 March,Official Report, column 716, on the export of armoured vehicles to Indonesia. [35146]

Mr. Oppenheim

[holding answer 17 July 1995]: An exception was made in this case because the Government were satisfied that it was in the public interest to make a statement. The exporter had also made an announcement to the Stock Exchange about this particular contract.
