§ Mr. StewartNormal procedures for appointments to public bodies are being followed. Executive search consultants have been contracted to assist in the recruitment of chief executives. Additionally, invitations have been issued to Confederation of British Industry, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, National Farmers Union of Scotland, Scottish Consumer Council, Scottish Landowners Federation, and Scottish Trades Union Congress to offer suggestions for appointments to the membership of the new authorities. Suggestions from these organisations, and others, are now being considered.
