To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Stoke on Trent, North (Ms Walley) of 15 December,Official Report, column 709, on how many of the 132,000 cheques DVLA took prosecution action; and on how many of these the DVLA recovered money.

A total of 13,205, of which 12,842 resulted in revenue recovery.

I keep all parts of my Department under review with the aim of identifying scope for market testing. including the traffic area offices.
