To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what was the amount paid in light dues by merchant ships entering the Tees and Hartlepool ports last year.

Mr. Norris

The total amount of light dues collected by Customs and Excise in the financial year to 31 March 1993 was £4,133,427 in the area of the Tees and Hartlepool port authority.
