HC Deb 02 February 1994 vol 236 cc743-4W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what Welsh Office scrutiny there is of the working of the Welsh Development Agency; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Redwood

The Welsh Development Agency, like other non-departmental public bodies, is subject to a range of controls, directions and monitoring as required by the Welsh Development Agency Act 1975. Targets, objectives and performance measures are set in the context of the corporate planning cycle. The agency's finances are monitored on a monthly basis and its accounts are audited by the National Audit Office.
