HC Deb 18 October 1993 vol 230 c36W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will list the availability of casualty beds, in each London health district for each year since 1990–91; what she expects the figure to be for the current year and planned for 1994–95 and subsequent years; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Sackville

Information collected centrally on bed availability is classified according to broad speciality groups. Casualty beds are not identified separately. Each authority or trust decides whether to designate beds as casualty beds in the light of local needs and experience. The hon. Member may wish to contact the chairmen of the four Thames regional health authorities for detailed information.
