To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will set out the charter provisions which ensure consultants and other doctors respond to requests for medical reports by DSS agencies for awarding benefits and deciding appeals within a reasonable time.

There are no provisions in the patients charter relating to the time taken by consultants and doctors to respond to such requests.
