HC Deb 30 November 1993 vol 233 c453W
Ms Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what evidence she has received on the extent to which fund-holding patients are being seen ahead of nonfundholding patients who have greater clinical need.

Dr. Mawhinney

On investigation such allegations prove to be unfounded. Emergency and urgent cases are always given priority, and hospitals are prevented from offering contracts to one purchaser which would disadvantage the patients of another.
