Mr. Wilson

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) which bus stations which were not sold as part of the Scottish Bus Group privatisation have subsequently been disposed of; on what terms; and to whom;

(2) if he will make a statement on the ownership of St. Andrew's square bus station, Edinburgh and Buchanan street bus station, Glasgow, subsequent to the passing of the Transport (Scotland) Act 1990.

[holding answer 17 May 1993]: Three bus stations were retained by the Scottish Transport Group and present positions on each is as follows: St. Andrew's Square Bus Station, Edinburgh—Negotiations are progressing with a prospective buyer. Buchanan Bus Station, Glasgow—The lease of this property held by STG was recently sold to Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive. Berwick-upon-Tweed Bus Station—STG has separately marketed for sale its half interest in the property which is jointly owned with Northumbria Buses.
