§ Mr. Stewart[holding answer 17 May 1993]: The Scottish Office Home and Health Department has recently completed a policy review of maternity service provision in Scotland and I shall be considering its findings shortly. In addition, a "Framework for Action" working group on maternity services was set up in April 1992 to develop strategies for raising standards in maternity services with particular emphasis on identifying good practice and developing networks.
