HC Deb 14 May 1993 vol 224 cc590-1W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) which representatives of deaf and hard of hearing people she consulted prior to her decision to exclude them from free sight tests;

(2) what representations she received from deaf and hard of hearing people concerning the introduction of charges for eye tests.

Dr. Mawhinney

We are not aware that any representations were made by deaf and hard of hearing people when charges for sight tests were introduced on 1 April 1989; nor were their representatives consulted.
