Future Development
The WDA will be promoting a number of landscape and forest strategies in the valleys programme area. Four areas have so far been identified, namely:
Blaenau Gwent, Rhymney, Rhondda and Ogwr.In each case there will be a package of action based on a landscape masterplan including the planting of new woodlands, management of existing woodlands, the upgrading of land reclamation sites, and a range of amenity creation and landscape projects in the urban fringe. These will be achieved in partnerships which will include local authorities, the Forest Authority and the Countryside Council for Wales.
