HC Deb 23 March 1993 vol 221 cc548-9W
Mr. Richards

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has for changes to the cash limits for his Department in the current financial year.

Mr. David Hunt

The cash limits for Welsh Office/local authority capital will be reduced by £11,528,000 from £449,172,000 to £437,644,000 and the cash limit for Welsh Office/Housing for Wales will be increased by £11,326,000 from £156,469,000 to £167,795,000.

These changes largely reflect a transfer of £11,326,000 from local authorities to Housing for Wales which will enable housing associations to provide additional housing units.

The cash limit for WO/LACAP will also be reduced by £202,000 in respect of the transfer of unallocated fire service supplementary credit approvals to the Home Office—HO/LACAP—to facilitate the replacement of fire service mobilisation and communications systems. A corresponding increase will be made to the HO/LACAP cash limit.

None of these changes will add to the planned total of public expenditure.
