§ Mr. JackThe Government continue to pursue vigorously their existing policies, the objective of which is to reduce opportunities for violent crime, to ensure that the police have the necessary powers and resources to deter and apprehend violent offenders, to provide the courts with adequate powers to sentence them after conviction and to offer support to victims.
