HL Deb 21 July 1993 vol 548 c45WA
Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their policy to encourage Foreign and Commonwealth Office establishments overseas to serve English and Welsh wines when entertaining whenever possible.

Baroness Chalker of Wallasey

I refer the noble Lord to the reply I gave to my noble friend Lord O'Hagan on 25th March. The serving of English and Welsh wines is of course welcome when and where it is practicable and value for money, and a number of British diplomats overseas are able to do this.
