To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) how many sufferers form schizophrenia were detained(a) under section 2, (b) under section 3, (c) under section 37 and (d) under sections 47 and 48 of the Mental Health Act 1983 in each year since 1984;

(2) how many sufferers from schizophrenia were detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act 1983 in each year since 1984, in each regional health authority area;

(3) how many (a) non-offender and (b) mentally disordered offender patients detained in hospital under the Mental Health Act 1983 in each year since 1984 were suffering from schizophrenia.

Information on a comparable basis is not held centrally for later years.
