Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what plans he has to publish a Green Paper on possible restrictions on young drivers; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

I am considering various options for reducing the high accident rate associated with young drivers. We hope to issue a consultation paper in the summer.
