§ Mr. PikeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the value of the capital receipts accumulated by each local authority in England(a) for the last three years and (b) the total of such resources available in each local authority for use if such use were to be permitted.
§ Mr. BaldryI have arranged for information on the value of usable capital receipts held by each local authority at 31 March in each of the last three years to be placed in the Library of the House. Local authorities may use all of these receipts.
Local authorities are not required separately to identify the reserved part of capital receipts from other amounts set aside as provision for credit liabilities (PCL). No separate figures are available for the unapplied balance of PCL which has originated from set aside capital receipts.
§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the capital receipts income for each of the London borough councils from the sale of council housing in each of the last five years.
§ Sir George YoungThe information requested, as reported by each of the London borough councils, is as follows. The figures exclude the element of lending by he local authorities for council house purchase.
