§ Sir George YoungA table setting out information on housing investment programme (HIP) bids, allocations, and allocations expressed as a percentage of bids, for each authority in England over the last three years, has been placed in the Library of the House.
The levels of local authorities' bids for housing investment programme resources reflect, in part, the competition for these resources and therefore often exceed the amount of resources likely to be available.
§ Mr. PikeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information his Department has on(a) the homeless figure, (b) the general waiting list figures and (c) the sheltered housing waiting list figures for each local authority in England over the last three years; and if he will make a statement.
§ Sir George YoungI would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Greenwich (Mr. Raynsford) earlier today for the numbers of households reported by individual local authorities in England as accepted for permanent rehousing under the homeless provisions of the Housing Act 1985.
