HC Deb 27 October 1992 vol 212 c559W
Mr. Ancram

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs pursuant to his answers of 12 June,Official Report, column 326, and 30 June, Official Report, column 507, whether a decision has been taken on the future of the United Kingdom's participation in the multinational force and observers in Sinai.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

Having carefully considered the views of the signatories of the 1981 protocol establishing the multinational force and observers, we confirmed our decision to withdraw. The United Kingdom contingent left on 21 October 1992. This decision reflects the fact that over 13 years after the signature of a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel their border is stable and internationally recognised.
