§ Mr. Douglas HoggHaving carefully considered the views of the signatories of the 1981 protocol establishing the multinational force and observers, we confirmed our decision to withdraw. The United Kingdom contingent left on 21 October 1992. This decision reflects the fact that over 13 years after the signature of a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel their border is stable and internationally recognised.
