HC Deb 26 October 1992 vol 212 c491W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will amend current severe disablement allowance regulations to permit young people on youth training programmes to requalify for SDA following the completion of the placement, if the individual is deemed to be unable to enter employment either due to his/her condition or experience of disability.

Mr. Scott

Special linking rules already exist to help young people who are incapable of work when their youth training programme finishes. Severe disablement allowance can be reinstated providing a fresh claim is made within eight weeks of the end of the course.
