HC Deb 26 October 1992 vol 212 c482W
17. Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a further statement on the effect of red routes on community life in London.

Mr. Norris

Communities along the pilot red route corridor have benefited from a 17 per cent. reduction in accidents, 11 new or improved crossing places for pedestrians and three for cyclists, 107 side road entries made safer, traffic calming measures in the surrounding area, 620 new free short term parking spaces, and faster and more reliable bus services including a new express service.
