§ Mr. MacleanThe 1990 report of the United Kingdom review group on acid rain contains a large number of research recommendations. In response to these, work has been commissioned within my Department's air quality research programme aimed at improving information on emissions of acidifying compounds and of their precursors, on the transport and transformation of these compounds in the atmosphere, on the quantities deposited and on their impacts in the environment.
