§ Mr. Simon HughesTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on Government policy towards the proposal from the United States of America that the climate change convention agreed at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development be ratified by the end of the current year.
§ Mr. MacleanThe Government welcome the ratification of the UN framework convention on climate change by the United States of America, and by other countries, including China. Along with the other Group of Seven countries and member states of the European Community, the United Kingdom is committed to seek to ratify the convention by the end of 1993.
