HL Deb 23 November 1992 vol 540 cc53-4WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Ministry of Defence's thinking about the United Kingdom's possible need for anti-ballistic missiles will involve discussions with the Russian and other ex-Soviet parties, with the United States and its Israeli partners in the Arrow and another ABM programmes, and with the United Kingdom's partners in WEU.

Viscount Cranborne

The potential ballistic missile risk and possible ways of countering it are being reviewed in consultation with the US and other NATO allies, including fellow WEU members, taking into account all relevant factors. We have no plans currently to consult non-NATO allies.
