§ Mr. BettsTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the forecasts made by the Treasury for(a) the public service borrowing requirement, (b) public expenditure, (c) inflation, (d) unemployment, (e) growth of gross domestic product and (f) the balance of payments, in both the autumn statements and the Budget statements for the financial years 1987–88 to 1992–93, together with the actual performance in each year and the latest estimate for 1992–93.
§ Mr. Portillo[holding answer 11 November 1992]: The Government do not publish unemployment forecasts. Forecasts of the other variables are shown in the table. A new forecast was published to accompany the Chancellor's autumn statement on Thursday 12 November.
