§ Mr. Maclean[holding answer 15 May 1992]: The United Kingdom supports the commitment contained in article 4 of the United Nations framework convention on climate change that all countries should promote sustainable management and promote and co-operate in the conservation and enhancement of sinks and reservoirs of greenhouse gases. Increases in the absorption of greenhouse gases by sinks will benefit all countries in limiting potential climate change.
