Further to their answer of 2nd July 1991, (H. L Deb, col. WA57), how many people detained under Immigration Act powers sought asylum in the year to 18th June 1992, and where they were held.

The information is not available in the form requested. Two hundred and three people in detention on 22nd June 1992 for one month or more under Immigration Act powers had sought asylum. Sixty-one were in immigration service accommodation and the rest in prisons, including Haslar.
