HC Deb 02 June 1992 vol 208 cc388-9W
Mr. Rowe

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps have been taken by his Department to ensure that British Rail is discharging its listed buildings responsibility for Eyhorne Manor, Hollingbourne in the corridor of the safeguarded section of the currently proposed route for the Channel tunnel rail link.

Mr. Key

I have been asked to reply.

Enforcement of listed building controls, including service of repairs notices, would in the first instance be a matter for the local planning authority; but I understand that Maidstone borough council is not aware of any current problems at the manor. British Rail is taking steps to tidy the garden.
