asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will consider consolidating the National Assistance Act 1948 in the near future.

Although Her Majesty's Government at present have no plans to consolidate the few provisions of the National Assistance Act 1948 which remain unrepealed, I will ask the Law Commission to consider this.
