HL Deb 27 February 1992 vol 536 c13WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What evidence they have received concerning the inadequacy of the personal allowances under income support for asylum seekers, and whether they are reconsidering previous decisions about the 90 per cent. rate of payment.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Social Security (Lord Henley)

We have seen no convincing evidence that the personal allowances for asylum seekers are inadequate. There are no plans at present to review those allowances.
