§ Mrs. ChalkerWe attach importance to the convening of free and fair elections in September 1992 in completion of the settlement agreed in Portugal on 31 May 1991 which ended the Angolan civil war. We have regular discussions with both sides, and are assisting in the formation of a new integrated army to help bring stability to the country.
