§ Mr. Needham[holding answer 7 December 1992]: The only information that relates to mahogany imported from Brazil is that which has been sawn or chipped lengthwise, sliced or peeled, of a thickness exceeding 6mm, defined as code 440723901 of the standard international trade classification, revision 3. Under this heading there were 45,762 cu m of mahogany, valued at £22 million, imported into the United Kingdom from Brazil in 1991.
