§ Mr. Needham[holding answer 7 December 1992]: Following the privatisation of ECGD's insurance services 591W business the number of posts remaining in Cardiff was projected in the 1992 public expenditure survey to fall from 196 to 165 over three years. The recent review of the distribution of ECGD's functions will lead to a further net reduction of 10 posts over that period. Efficiency improvements are likely to lead to further reductions in both London and Cardiff, but these have yet to be determined and will depend on the level of business.
