HC Deb 01 December 1992 vol 215 c101W
Mr. Sproat

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what was the average time taken by the Ministers in his Department, including himself, to answer letters from hon. Members, in each of the first three quarters of 1992, measuring the time from the receipt of the letter to the dispatch of the substantive reply.

Mr. Brooke

As my Department was established in April 1992, I can supply estimates of the time taken to respond to hon. Members' letters for the second and third quarters of 1992. The average was approximately 16 working days in the second quarter and 17 working days in the third.
