HC Deb 06 March 1991 vol 187 c192W
Mr. Hardy

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list those projects which have been or will be directly assisted by European moneys under the Rechar programme; and whether these payments have been classed as public expenditure as far as United Kingdom financial monitoring is concerned.

Mr. Yeo

No projects have been aided by the European Commission Rechar programme as the Commission has not yet approved the United Kingdom's proposals which are currently being considered, nor do we know, at this stage, which projects will be aided as they will have to be submitted to and approved by the relevant programme co-ordinating committee, once the programme itself has been approved.

Mr. Hardy

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list those projects within South Yorkshire which have been assisted by the European Rechar programme.

Mr. Yeo

None, as the Rechar programme for South Yorkshire has not yet been approved by the European Commission.
