Responsibility for appointments to the Sports Council and the regional councils for sport and recreation was transferred to my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science on 29 November 1990.
None of the appointments to public bodies created since 1 July 1990 for which I am responsible attracts 192W remuneration of more than £50,000 per annum. The bodies are the Nature Conservancy Council for England and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee. All the appointments to these bodies are part-time.
