§ Mr. EggarIt is not possible to give a specific figure. Church schools which become grant maintained are eligible to receive a one-off transitional grant, various special purpose grants and a formula capital allocation. Some of these replace benefits or services which LEA-maintained schools are eligible to receive in another way. Such schools are also to be eligible to bid for 100 per cent. funding of named capital building projects. The amount received will depend on whether the bid is successful.

§ Mr. EggarTo date, 14 Church schools have applied for grant-maintained status. Of these, we have approved eight, rejected one and have yet to decide the remaining five.
