§ Mr. Simon HughesTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the number and species of animals deaths suspected to be caused by pesticides for each available year since 1979; and what proportion of the deaths were suspected to be caused by(a) deliberate abuse of pesticides, (b) illegal poison of baits, (c) legitimate use of pesticides and (d) other causes.
§ Mr. MacleanInformation from 1985 onwards is contained in published reports on "Investigations of Suspected Poisoning of Animals by Pesticides in Great Britain," copies of which are placed in the Library of the House. The report for 1990 will be issued very shortly.
