HC Deb 23 January 1991 vol 184 c224W
28. Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the present balance of trade in office equipment with(a) the EC and (b) the rest of the world.

Mr. Sainsbury

There is no sector in official statistics which covers all office equipment. In the sector of office machines and automatic data-processing machines, however, the United Kingdom had a positive crude balance of trade of £547 million with the EC countries and a deficit of £1,939 million with the rest of the world in the year to November 1990.
