To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he has any proposals to amend company law in respect of political donations.

Mr. Redwood

Companies are required to disclose in their directors' report details of every political donation exceeding £200 made in the course of the financial year. These provisions operate satisfactorily and no amendments are needed.
