To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much money has been allocated by the EC for each of the operational programmes under the Community support framework for Northern Ireland 1989–93.

[holding answer 14 January 1991]: The Community support framework for Northern Ireland was approved on 31 October 1989 and provides for nine operational programmes, all of which have now been agreed by the European Commission. Community funding is allocated to the operational programmes as follows:

Figures are shown in 1989 prices and based on the December 1990 exchange rate of £1 =0.705 ecu.

The resources allocated in the Community support framework also include provision for various programmes, for example, STAR, Valoren, non-quota border areas, non-quota textiles and so on, which were in operation before the Community support framework was agreed.
