How many persons are employed as chaplains in prisons in England and Wales, and how many in the Chaplain General's department with the Home Office, at what total cost.

The headquarters staff of the Prison chaplaincy comprises the Chaplain General, the Principal Roman Catholic Chaplain, the Superintendent Methodist Chaplain, four Assistant Chaplains General, two Senior Roman Catholic Chaplains and a Chaplaincy Training Officer, together with administrative support staff. Within prison establishments, the numbers of chaplains are:
