How many remand and convicted male and female prisoners were held in police cells on 1st April 1990 and on every subsequent day; and how many were held by each police force on 8th May 1990.

The numbers of male and female prisoners held in police cells at the beginning of each day since 1st April 1990, and the number held by each police force on 8th May 1990 are listed below. The figures are not collected separately for remand and convicted prisoners but the majority of prisoners in police cells are on remand.
