HL Deb 22 May 1990 vol 519 c891WA
The Earl of Kimberley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether in the light of press reports: (Sunday Express, 29th April) that an airline employee is acting as courier for large sums of money for the IRA, they propose to take action to prevent the entry of such persons into the United Kingdom.

Earl Ferrers

Under the Immigration Act 1971, my right honourable friend the Home Secretary may direct the exclusion of a foreign national from the United Kingdom in the interests of national security. He is ready to use that power whenever there are sufficient grounds for him to do so.
