HC Deb 08 May 1990 vol 172 c91W
Mr. Amos

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what benefit farmers in Northumberland will receive from the recent price fixing agreed by the EEC Agriculture Council of Ministers; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Curry

The settlement reached in Brussels last month was a very good one for the United Kingdom. In particular, we secured a substantial devaluation of the green pound which will increase sterling support prices for crops by 10.7 per cent., for beef by 8.5 per cent., for milk by 6.8 per cent. and for sheepmeat by 11 per cent.
