To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will give the funding figures for London dial-a-ride for 1985–86 and for 1991.

Mr. Portillo

Under the GLC, funding for the London dial-a-ride service in 1985–86 was £4.2 million. In 1990–91 the Government will provide £8.27 million. This is a real increase of 50 per cent., and underlines the Government's commitment to the success of the London dial-a-ride service.
