HC Deb 12 March 1990 vol 169 c124W
30. Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the current position on the aviation bilateral discussions between the United Kingdom and the United States of America; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Parkinson

We met in Washington on 11 January. We discussed a variety of topics. Prominent were the prospects for liberalising the United Kingdom-United States aviation market, and arrangements for new United States airline services to regional airports. These discussions are now being carried forward. Indeed, I have spoken to Mr. Skinner in the past week.
