HL Deb 07 November 1989 vol 512 c700WA
Baroness Gardner of Parkes

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What plans they have to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the landing at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, on 25th April 1915; and whether they are aware that the Government of Australia intends to send a delegation of government ministers, representatives of the opposition and servicemen (both serving and retired) to Gallipoli for the occasion.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

We are aware of the Australian Government's intention regarding representation at the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the ANZAC landings on 25th April 1990. We are arranging for appropriate British representation at that event.
