§ Ms. HarmanTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will put in the Library copies of any environmental impact, engineering, costing and any other reports on the proposed route for the Channel tunnel rail link.
§ Mr. PortilloI have already arranged for copies of British Rail's published report and information pack on the rail link to be placed in the Library. BR will be carrying out an environmental assessment of the proposed route, in accordance with the requirements of the EC directive, and has undertaken to present an environmental statement to Parliament at the same time as it deposits a Private Bill. We will consider whether there are any further reports which it would be helpful to deposit in the Library in due course.
